The Best Muscle Building Supplements

These days there are literally tens of thousands of supplements for you to choose from. Chances are if you have a health issue or bodily concern then there is a supplement claiming to be the miracle you have been searching for.

I have worked on both sides of the supplement industry. I first started training people back in the late 1980’s (oh my, that is really dating me isn’t it…). In fact, when I started “personal training” there wasn’t even a term for it- I was simply helping people workout and every now and then someone would give me a couple bucks for doing so.

Ahh the 80’s….remember the fashion? Maybe it’s better to forget…

Flash forward about a decade or so and I found myself working with one of the world’s fastest growing supplement companies- EAS and Muscle Media Magazine. These were the “hay days” of the bodybuilding supplement days and I was selling supplements like creatine and Myoplex by the truckload.

The supplement industry simply exploded from then.

Soon there was a GNC in every mall and a whole host of others followed suit.

Walk into a supplement store today and you will be blown away by the sheer volume of supplements available. Everything ranging from Dr Oz’s “Raspberry Ketones” to fat flushes, colon cleanses and metabolism boosters.

It seems like we have become a society dead set on proving Cher wrong when she said “if fitness came in a bottle everyone would have a great body”.

With that being said I would like to present to you what I believe to be the best muscle building supplements. Please keep in mind that this video is about supplements that are good for improving body composition (less fat and more muscle) and is not meant to be all inclusive. There are many supplements that can help you with a wide variety of health conditions and maladies that may be of concern to you. In this video I am only referring to muscle building and fat loss. After watching please feel free to post your comments, questions and experiences.

Hi Larry- transform+ pulse is a fantastic supplement indeed. The plant based proteins are an excellent alternative to whey. I always recommend rotating protein sources. Don’t eat the same protein back-to-back. Thanks for your comment!

    Hi Bruce!

I LOVED your video, Creatine and BCAA have always been such a scary mystery to me, but your video has completely changed my mind!

    Thanks so much.

As a 70 year old I appreciate the reference to “sarcopenia.” It is such an easy trap for the elderly to fall into. Thanks for the advice.

  6. @Ron – Don’t be afraid of Creatine! It is an amazing lean muscle building supplement. You should make sure to stick with buffered creatine as your body can absorb this kind much easier.

Great article tho- really enjoyed the information :)

Thanks Troy. The need for creatine supplementation increases with age- even sedentary individuals in their 30′s, 40′s and up can benefit from as little as 5 grams per day.
