Eating for fat loss doesn’t have to be tasteless or boring.
Back when I was growing up and desperate to change my body I would eat ANYTHING if it meant that it would take me closer to my goal.
I can vividly recall eating dry tuna and rice by the plateful! I would “dress up” this gourmet delight by sprinkling on some lemon pepper or salsa just to make things a bit more bearable.
Thankfully things have evolved since those days and eating for fat loss and muscle building can actually taste good.
One snack that I really enjoy lately is high protein pudding. This dessert like concoction is chock full of muscle building protein and has a terrific texture that makes you think you are eating something far less nutritious.
The recipe is very simple and can be prepared in a flash. I do recommend that you use a Magic Bullet type mixer as this will make the mixture very smooth and creamy- just like real pudding!
Here is the recipe:
1 cup low fat cottage cheese (organic whenever possible)
½ tablespoon nut or seed butter (non hydrogenated and with no added sugar)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (whey isolate or blend of isolate and concentrate free from artificial sweeteners)
3-4 small slices of banana (about ¼ of a banana)
Combine all ingredients in your Magic Bullet and blend until smooth and creamy. For even better tastes and texture, refrigerate for a few hours before consuming.
This recipe contains approximately 400 calories, 55 grams of protein, 30 grams carbs and 7 grams of fat. Here is a video I shot demonstrating how to make it:
